Once a Thomaner, always a Thomaner – “Bach’s Choir” today

Leipzig’s world famous Thomanerchor launch their brand new Image Film, with English sub-titles

The music of Bach is central to the repertoire of this remarkable choir, a choral institution that dates from 1212. From 1723-1750 Bach was the director (Cantor) of the choir and composed the lion’s share of his music for them. The Bach Legacy is one they cherish very deeply, singing his music at their weekly services (Motette on Fridays Gottesdienst/Sunday Services) and on tour. The world is their oyster and they receive far more invitations to tour than they can accept. Read more about them by using the navigation and scrolling down to their own page.  Click on the link to watch the new film.
