I’m the one who did not get tickets in the post for the Musical Offering. Of course I got them, as promised, at St Georges. At one level, I wish I hadn’t as I came to realise how little I knew about Bach. I mean, I thought I did. Since then I have been spending my time going through various versions on Youtube. There are such wonderful passages in it. I am reading Godel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter, as I have been for years, and he writes extensively about the Musical Offering, the way it never seems to end, in a loop as it were, like Escher and then its connection to the great maths theory of Godel.

    Thanks again.
